Can A Chiropractor Fix Cervical Spondylosis?

Cervical spondylosis is another term for cervical degeneration. They can both sound like scary terms when they are happening to you but more than 85% of people over the age of 65 have it, and 25% of people under 40! A large percentage of these cases remain asymptomatic or at least are not troubled in their day-today lives by the condition.

It can happen in any region of the spine as the spinal discs that support mobility start to ‘shrink’, causing improper motion and putting pressure on the bones. This makes them produce more bone or ‘spurs’ to manage the increased load.

Common symptoms include popping/clicking/grinding sounds while moving, neck pain/stiffness, numbness/tingling into the hands, headaches, and even balance/coordination issues.

Chiropractic helps to manage the symptoms associated with spinal spondylosis and slow down the process by restoring proper movement to the affected areas, providing more support for the damage and struggling structures. Anecdotally, I have seen mild resorption of bone spurs and increased disc heights from a course a chiropractic care but there is currently no reliable ‘cure’ for spondylosis.
