Chiropractic Vs Massage
I get asked a lot if chiropractic is better than massage and the answer is that they are just different! Chiropractic and massage therapy are both allied health professions with the goal of helping your body feel and heal better naturally! We can work extremely well together especially for those who find stress perpetuates their symptoms or there are chronic issues at play.
Chiropractic adjustments restore proper movement and function to joints, taking the pressure and strain off of muscles that are not designed to be doing the heavy lifting. They also improve communication from the nervous system to the body allowing the brain more awareness to problem areas. This is crucial in achieving the main goal of chiropractic; to get your body in a position where it can heal itself more efficiently.
Chiropractors tend to focus more on spinal alignment and the nervous system while massage targets the muscular systems. While at Fletcher Chiropractic, we do perform therapeutic soft tissue releases, having someone focus solely on removing tension from the muscles and fascia can compliment chiropractic adjustments beautifully. See our blog on ‘ Do chiropractors can get knots out?’ for more information on our soft tissue work.
